What is Vista Mar?
When people think of San Carlos, the beaches are usually the first thing that comes to mind. Yet, just a few minutes from Casa Fofo is a place that often surprises visitors: Vista Mar.
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the lush green hills of Panamá Oeste, Vista Mar is a sprawling residential complex that features an impressive marina and a magnificent 18-hole golf course.
Even for people who don’t play golf, the place is worth a visit.

Personally, even though I don’t play golf, I particularly enjoy Vista Mar for its scenery and peaceful atmosphere. It’s one of those places that reminds you that the San Carlos region is about more than just its beaches. Between the ocean, the marina, and the surrounding hills, the area offers a different side of Panamá Oeste—one that’s often overlooked by visitors.
At the end of the day, when the golden sunlight glints off the ocean and the course’s water features, Vista Mar reveals what is perhaps its most beautiful side. It’s a moment particularly cherished by photographers and lovers of coastal landscapes.
