And behind the image of a tropical country lie very different climates, atmospheres and lifestyles. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-c-est-la-que-nous-avons-decouvert-ce-que-l-on-appelle-l-arco-seco\">This is where we discovered the so-called<strong>Arco Seco<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Arco Seco, or &#8220;dry arc&#8221;, is a geographical area on the Pacific coast, renowned for being <strong>much less rainy than the rest of the country<\/strong>, especially during the rainy season. Where some regions can experience days of rain, the Arco Seco often enjoys sunny mornings and shorter showers, usually at the end of the day.   <br\/><br\/>For us, this was a decisive criterion. And let&#8217;s face it, we really like the rainy season here, because it refreshes the atmosphere, the rain is warm and it allows nature to be greener, more alive! <br\/><br\/>We wanted to live in a place where nature was omnipresent, yes, but without being cooped up in the rain for days on end. We were looking for that subtle balance between greenery and brightness. And our checklist had to be respected.  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Weather (seasons) \u2705<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Schools and grade level (public vs. private) and location \u2705<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hospitals (public vs. private) \u2705<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Diving X<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn Spanish \u2705<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casafofo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Arco-Seco-Map.jpeg?resize=1024%2C422&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31180\" style=\"aspect-ratio:2.4266348101594555;width:468px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casafofo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Arco-Seco-Map.jpeg?resize=1024%2C422&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casafofo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Arco-Seco-Map.jpeg?resize=300%2C124&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casafofo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Arco-Seco-Map.jpeg?resize=768%2C316&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casafofo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Arco-Seco-Map.jpeg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-une-fois-cette-zone-identifiee-il-restait-a-choisir-la-ville\">Once this area had been identified, the next step was to choose the city.<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Naturally, we looked at <strong>Coronado<\/strong>, which is very popular with expatriates. It has everything: supermarkets, restaurants, clinics, international schools&#8230; It&#8217;s convenient.<br\/>But that&#8217;s not all.<br\/>We weren&#8217;t just looking for convenience. We were looking for a place to live.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-c-est-ainsi-que-nous-avons-decouvert-nbsp-san-carlos\">That&#8217;s how we discovered <strong>San Carlos<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just a few minutes from Coronado, San Carlos offers a completely different face. More authentic, quieter, closer to nature. Here, the beaches are less crowded, the landscapes more rugged, and the pace of life even gentler.  <br\/><br\/>And yet, everything remains accessible.<br\/><br\/>In just a few minutes by car, we can reach the amenities of Coronado. As if something inside us simply said: <em>this is<\/em> it. It was in San Carlos that we had this feeling.
