hazards in Panama<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Panama is one of the safest countries in Latin America.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Areas to avoid<\/strong>: Dari\u00e9n (Colombian border), specific areas of Panama City (e.g. El Chorrillo, Curund\u00fa at night), Col\u00f2n.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Main risks<\/strong>: petty theft and pickpockets in urban and tourist areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advice<\/strong>: normal vigilance, avoid displaying valuables, prefer Uber at night in the city.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coastal areas like <strong>San Carlos<\/strong> are calm and safe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcb0 Finance \/ Taxes<\/h4>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Territorial tax system<\/strong>: only income generated in Panama is taxed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foreign income (pensions, investments, foreign online income) generally <strong>not taxed<\/strong> in Panama.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No wealth or inheritance tax.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Solid banks, but strict compliance (justification of funds required).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udeaa Administrative facility &#8211;
