{"id":31143,"date":"2026-05-13T09:50:37","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T14:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casafofo.com\/backpackers-vanlifers\/backpackers-and-vanlifers-regulations\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T09:53:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T14:53:08","slug":"backpackers-and-vanlifers-regulations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/casafofo.com\/en\/backpackers-vanlifers\/backpackers-and-vanlifers-regulations\/","title":{"rendered":"BACKPACKERS AND VANLIFERS REGULATIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/casafofo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Casa-Fofo-sortie-en-van.tif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28869\" style=\"width:418px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-casa-fofo-guesthouse-san-carlos-panama\"><strong>Casa Fofo GuestHouse &#8211; San Carlos, Panama \ud83c\uddf5\ud83c\udde6<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Welcome to Casa Fofo \ud83c\udf3f<br\/>We are a small, family-run guesthouse located about 200 meters from the beach, in a quiet, tropical residential environment.<br\/><br\/>The backpackers &amp; vanlifers area has been designed for simple, respectful and self-sufficient travelers wishing to enjoy a peaceful place close to nature and the ocean.<br\/><br\/>To ensure that everyone has a pleasant stay, here are a few important rules.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-type-d-hebergement\"><strong>\ud83c\udf92 Type of accommodation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The backpackers \/ vanlife area is for:<br\/><br\/>&#8211; travelers with hammocks<br\/>&#8211; travelers with tents<br\/>&#8211; travelers in converted vehicles \/ vans \/ overlanders<br\/><br\/>\u26a0\ufe0f This is not a party campground, nor is it a noisy gathering area.<br\/>Casa Fofo remains first and foremost a family-run, residential guesthouse.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-duree-maximale-de-sejour\"><strong>\ud83d\udcc5 Maximum length of stay<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">maximum 5 consecutive nights<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-horaires\"><strong>\ud83d\udd52 Opening hours<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"h-check-in\"><strong>Check-in<\/strong><br\/>From 2 PM<br\/><br\/><strong>Check-out<\/strong><br\/>Before 11 AM<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-silence-amp-respect-du-voisinage\"><strong>Silence &amp; respect for neighbors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u274c no parties<br\/>\u274c no loud music<br\/>\u274c no excessive drinking<br\/>\u274c no aggressive or disrespectful behavior<br\/>\u274c no drugs<br\/>\u274c no pets<br\/>\u274c no unannounced outside visitors<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone not respecting the spirit of the place may be asked to leave Casa Fofo without refund.<br\/>We live on site with our children and 3 cats, and several neighbors live nearby.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-politique-concernant-les-animaux\">Animal policy<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u274c We do not accept animals of any kind or size, in order to preserve the calm of the place and the well-being of our cats living on site.<br\/>\u267f Service animals recognized for medical reasons remain welcome, of course.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-espaces-accessibles\"><strong>Accessible areas<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Backpackers &amp; vanlifers have access to outdoor common areas:<br\/>\u2705 swimming pool<br\/>\u2705 boh\u00edos<br\/>\u2705 relaxation areas<br\/>\u2705 Wi-Fi<br\/>\u2705 p\u00e9tanque court<br\/>\u2705 outdoor shower \/ WC<br\/>\u2705 secure indoor parking (subject to availability)<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83c\udf73 <strong>Shared outdoor kitchen:<br\/><\/strong><br\/> Access to the kitchen depends on casita occupancy and organization at the time.<br\/>It may therefore be accessible in certain situations, but cannot be guaranteed systematically.<br\/>Please ask us on site \ud83d\ude0a<br\/>&#8211; If used, you will be charged USD2.- per person per day<br\/><br\/>\u26a0\ufe0f Private casitas are obviously not accessible.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cuisine-amp-proprete\"><strong>\ud83c\udf73 Kitchen &amp; cleanliness<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where the outdoor kitchen is accessible, please:<br\/>&#8211; clean up after use<br\/>&#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">wash<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">put away<\/span> dishes<br\/>&#8211; do not leave food open<br\/>&#8211; dispose of waste correctly\/discard the garbage can when it is full<br\/>&#8211; respect the peace and quiet of other travellers<br\/><br\/>\ud83c\udf3f Recycling: we sort our waste. Please respect the different bins provided. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-piscine\"><strong>\ud83c\udfca Swimming pool<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pool is a place to relax. Please respect the following rules: <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; mid-length and long hair tied up (men &amp; women)<br\/>&#8211; quick shower before entering<br\/>&#8211; bathing suit mandatory<br\/>&#8211; no diving<br\/>&#8211; no food\/drinks in the pool &#8211; no glass containers<br\/>&#8211; no loud music around the pool<br\/>&#8211; children under parents&#8217; responsibility<br\/><br\/>\u26a0\ufe0f Unsupervised swimming pool.
